The Rockin' Hep Cats are an authentic tribute band that specializes in the American roots music of R&B, Rockabilly, and Country & Western. Step back in time to the mid to late 1950's and discover the history of what a Rock N Roll Concert was like! From Elvis Presley to Johnny Cash, from Chuck Berry to Eddie Cochran to the many other Rock N Rollers, you get a wide variety of musical stylings with the Rockin' Hep Cats! Fun for the whole family, the Hep Cats were founded in 2019 and have been playing Fairs, Festivals, Parties, and many other occasions since then. They have played across Southern MN and into IA and WI and are only expanding their reach! The band consists of Frontman and Rhythm Guitar player Coltan Smisek, Bass from Todd Owen, Lead Guitar from Ben Owen and Drums from Eric Amundrud.

Tapers notes: Part of Rochesterfest. It's always fun to see these guys, both as friends and as a band. As always, Colton and the guys put on a high energy show that got people up and dancing all night. Sound quality is excellent, no real flaws here.

Tapers notes: Part of Rochesterfest. I had never heard of this band before this show, but they were on just before one of the main bands I came to see, so I figured why not get there early and check them out. They are a really fun band, I knew some of these songs, some I was semi familiar with, and some were completely unknown to me. But, they put on a great show, so even if I didn't know all the music, I had a fun time. Sound quality is great, I was able to get the same spot as the day before, so no real flaws.

She’s back! After Mother Nature dropped 5 inches of rain and washed out her 2025 show, we’re thrilled to announce that the Becky Schlegel Band is returning to Rochesterfest! Becky’s heartfelt vocals, Americana sound, and loyal fan base make her a favorite across the region—and we’re so excited to finally welcome her to the 2026 stage! Bring your friends, lawn chairs, and good vibes...and let’s give Becky the sunny evening she deserves!

Tapers notes: Part of Rochesterfest. Becky Schlegel has fast become one of my favorites to see, with any of the bands she plays with. This show was a mix, the first 2 sets were as Clover and the Bee, a more bluegrass style project that Becky and friends started recently. The 3rd set was the honky tonk band, which leans more country as the setlist shows. Both were fantastic, Becky has great range when it comes to the types of music she can play. Both bands here are super talented, combining some of the best musicians on their respective instruments in the area. Sound is great, I had the perfect position for recording, and there are very few flaws to speak of. This was the first of 2 days of music I recorded at Rochesterfest, there were 2 bands that played the following day that I recorded as well.
