Showcasing some of the finest Twin Ports music makers, Danny Frank & The Smoky Gold will host their 2nd Annual Duluth Songwriter Showcase Saturday, March 4 on the beautiful Sacred Heart Music Center altar stage.

This one-time-only event features three Duluth-based singer-songwriters performing a solo set of their original music for a live audience, discussing the craft of songwriting, and sharing stories that inspire their music. Danny Frank & The Smoky Gold will conclude the night with a full band performance.

2023 featured artists are: Sonja Martin of Feeding Leroy, Misisipi Mike and Lyla Abukhodiar.

Tapers notes: Lots of echo with this recording, one of the downsides of this venue. Live it sounds really great, but for recording purposes it creates issues. This recording encouraged me to look in to how to make SBD recordings, and a few weeks after this show I was able to test it at the same venue and it worked great. So, I am hopeful that I can get SBD recordings in the future here depending on the artist. This show was also live streamed and is available on YouTube to watch.
