The Nadas are a folk rock quintet based in Des Moines, Iowa. Formed in 1995 in Ames, Iowa, the band earned early success on the local college scene, eventually becoming the house band for People's Bar and Grill in Ames. In 2018, The Nadas were inducted into the Iowa Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame.

The Wallflowers are an American rock solo project of American singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Jakob Dylan. The Wallflowers were originally a roots rock band formed in Los Angeles by Dylan and guitarist Tobi Miller. It has undergone several personnel changes, but has remained centered on Dylan.

Tapers notes: When I was a teenager, The Wallflowers and Counting Crows were "the" bands for me, I was obssessed some might say. I was lucky enough to see Counting Crows about 20 years ago, and when I saw this show pop up I got excited and immediately booked a hotel for that weekend. My musicals tastes have expanded quite a bit since being a teen, but The Wallflowers still hold up in my opinion, they have so many quality songs. You could tell a lot of people were there for the hits, as after One Headlight about 25% of the crowd left, which was bizzare to me. To each their own I guess, I enjoyed their entire set, and they did the 2 Tom Petty covers justice. Sound here is average to above average I would say, as always listen to the sample and judge for yourself.

Master pianist, songwriter and singer AJ Croce will take the stage at the eighth annual Okoboji Blue Water Festival on August 12 as the prelude to headliner Elle King. “What a coup for the festival,” said co-chair Julie Peterson. “AJ Croce has performed his beautiful music for more that three decades, and we are thrilled that he is on the card for our evening concert.”

Croce draws from a myriad of musical traditions and anti-heroes – part New Orleans, part juke joint and part soul. The author of ten charted studio albums, Croce has illustrated through the years his love and appreciation of several musical genres, including blues, soul, pop, jazz and rock. Early in his career he toured with Ray Charles and B.B. King, and the list of musicians he has played with is lengthy with such names as Willie Nelson, the Neville Brothers and Ry Cooder.

AJ’s love for the music of his late father, the prolific songwriter Jim Croce, has strengthened through the years, and his live concerts are embellished with those lovely renditions.

Iowa’s premier water quality event this summer in the Iowa Great Lakes will culminate with a prestigious musical act on stage. Genre-busting singer, songwriter and rising star Elle King will headline the evening concert of the Okoboji Blue Water Festival. King’s rise in popularity is due in part to her versatility as a musician and her bold forays into several different genres.
King’s musical style is influenced by country, rock and blues, a diversity that has endeared her to fans. Her notoriety as a recording artist is maturing, and she slays a live show. Tapers notes: Sound on this one actually turned out a bit better than I was thinking it would. I debated whether or not to bring my stand, and ultimately decided to and figured if I was asked to take it down, then that's just the way it goes. I set it up about head high (6ft.) and hoped for the best. Security walked by multiple times and didn't say a word, so it worked out pretty good. There is some crowd chatter as it wasn't above the crowd, but for the most part, this is pretty listenable. I was more excited to see A.J. Croce, my roommate was excited to see Elle King, so it worked out great for both us.
