Tapers notes: Towards the middle of track 16 in set 1, Josie's battery in her guitar started dying, so there is some crackling and eventually it cuts out altogether. She switched out batteries after that song and it wasn't a problem the rest of the night. This is the 3rd of 4 shows I recorded of Josie's in about a month stretch. During the winter I tend to slow down with concerts for multiple reasons (no outdoor shows, financial reasons, etc.), so most of the winter shows tend to be these type of bar/restaurant gigs. It's looking like a busy summer though, I'm looking forward to it.

Tapers notes: I tried a new recording technique with this show, and it didn't turn out as well as I was hoping. Since Josie got her new board I've been experimenting with what will give me the best results, and I think I have it figured out now. This recording has some echo/reverb to it that I couldn't get rid of completely, but I was able to tame it a little bit. She mixed up the setlist a bit as it was close to Christmas, so a few Christmas songs were thrown in, so I was happy to be able to capture those.

Tapers notes: As I said previously, Josie's board fried at her last show, and the new one had not arrived by this show, so this recording is lower quality than what I usually get from Josie's shows. This was my first try with the ZoomH4E, and I am pretty pleased with how it worked. Josie started losing her voice about halfway throught the second set, but pushed through it until the end, so keep it in mind when listening to the last part of the second set.
